JOHANNESBURG – More South African women are unemployed than men that’s the latest from the unemployment figures.
But it is not all bad news… there is an alternative.

South African women are increasingly becoming entrepreneurs, helping to create jobs and boost the economy. 
However, challenges like gender bias, lack of funding, and self-doubt still hold them back. 
The Beauty industry is female dominated. 
However the informality of the sector makes it hard to remain in it for a long time. 
Despite having the odds stacked against her former full-time journalist Lillian Nkosi decided to jump into the industry.
Now her local business Forbes Goddess is an award-nominated small business.
